Biography
Philaret (* January 23, 1929 in Blahodatne; † March 20, 2026 in Kyiv) was a the Patriarch of Kyiv and All Rus’-Ukraine, the head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church — Kyiv Patriarchate. He was 97 years old. His education included Moscow Theological Academy and Odesa Theological Seminary. His faith was Eastern Orthodoxy. He received 6 awards, including Order of Merit, 1st class, Order of Liberty. He was buried at St Volodymyr's Cathedral.
