Franciszek Macharski (* 20. May 1927 in Kraków; † 2. August 2016 in Kraków) was a polish Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church. He was 89 years old. His education included Theology faculty of the Jagiellonian University and Jan III Sobieski High School in Kraków. His faith was Catholic Church. He received 8 awards, including Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, Knight of the Legion of Honour. He was buried at Wawel Cathedral.
