Biography of Gabriel Lippmann

Gabriel Lippmann (* 16. August 1845 in Bonnevoie; † 13. July 1921 in Atlantic Ocean) was a französischer Physiker und Nobelpreisträger für Physik. He was 75 years old. He was married to Laurence Lippmann. His education included École Normale Supérieure, Lycée Henri-IV and University of Paris. He worked at Laboratoire de recherches physiques de la faculté des sciences de Paris and University of Paris. He received 5 awards, including Nobel Prize in Physics, Grand Officer of the Legion of Honour. He was buried at Cimetière Notre-Dame.
