Gabriela Mistral (* 7. April 1889 in Vicuña; † 10. January 1957 in Hempstead) was a chilenische Dichterin, Diplomat und Nobelpreisträgerin. She was 67 years old. She studied at Escuela Normal № 1 de Santiago. She worked at Columbia University and Barnard College. Her faith was Catholicism. Her awards include Nobel Prize in Literature, National Prize for Literature (Chile) and Knight of the Legion of Honour. She was buried at Tumba de Gabriela Mistral.
