Gorō Shimura (* February 23, 1930 in Hamamatsu; †May 3, 2019 in Osaka) was a japanese mathematician. He was 89 years old. He studied at University of Tokyo. He received 5 awards, including Cole Prize in Algebra, Asahi Prize.
