Gunnel Vallquist (* 19. June 1918 in Stockholm; † 11. January 2016 in Bromma) was a swedish writer and translator, member of the Swedish Academy. She was 97 years old. She was married to Folke Diurlin. She studied at Uppsala University. Her awards include Litteris et Artibus, honorary doctorate of Lund University and Officer of Arts and Letters.
