Biography of Gurgen Balassanjan

Gurgen Balassanjan (* 15. October 1910 in Edremit district (Van); † 6. December 1982 in Yerevan) was a film director. He was 72 years old. He studied at Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography. He worked at Armenfilm and Երևանի վավերագրական ֆիլմերի ստուդիա. His awards include Honored Art Worker of the Armenian SSR, Medal "For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945" and Medal "For the Defence of the Caucasus".
