Gustaw Herling-Grudziński (* May 20, 1919 in Kielce; † July 4, 2000 in Naples) was a polish writer, World War II underground fighter, and political dissident. He was 81 years old. He was married to Lidia Croce and Krystyna Herling-Grudzińska. He studied at University of Warsaw. He received 5 awards, including Kościelski Award, Viareggio-Versilia International Prize. His cause of death was stroke.
