His education included Lycée Henri-IV, École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, Cours Simon and International College, Beirut. His faith was Judaism. His awards include Grande médaille de la chanson française, Grand Prix du Disque and Prix Balzac. His cause of death was myocardial infarction. He was buried at Cemetery of Garches.
