Halil İnalcık (* May 26, 1916 in Istanbul; † July 25, 2016 in Ankara) was a turkish historian and writer. He was 100 years old. His education included Ankara University Faculty of Language and History – Geography and School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. His faith was Islam. He received 6 awards, including Presidential Culture and Arts Grand Awards, King Faisal International Prize in Islamic Studies. His cause of death was multiple organ dysfunction syndrome. He was buried at Fatih Mosque Cemetery.
