Biography of Harry Kupfer

Harry Kupfer (* 12. August 1935 in Berlin; † 30. December 2019 in Berlin) was a deutscher Opernregisseur. He was 84 years old. His education included Hans Otto Drama School of Leipzig and University of Music and Theatre Leipzig. He worked at Berlin University of the Arts. He received 5 awards, including Order of Merit of Berlin, Knight Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. His cause of death was disease.
