J. J. Johnson (* 22. January 1924 in Indianapolis; † 4. February 2001 in Indianapolis) was an american jazz trombonist, composer and arranger. He was 77 years old. He studied at Crispus Attucks High School. His awards include Paul Acket Award and NEA Jazz Masters. His cause of death was gunshot wound. He was buried at Crown Hill Cemetery.
