Biography
Jaan Kaplinski (* January 22, 1941 in Tartu; † August 8, 2021) was an estonian poet, philosopher, translator, politician and culture critic. He was 80 years old. He was married to Tiia Toomet. His education included Hugo Treffner Gymnasium and University of Tartu. He received 9 awards, including Order of the National Coat of Arms, 3rd Class, Vilenica Prize.
