Jacques Monod (* 9. February 1910 in 17th arrondissement of Paris; † 31. May 1976 in Cannes) was a französischer Biochemiker und Nobelpreisträger. He was 66 years old. He was married to Odette Monod-Bruhl. He studied at Science Faculty of Paris. He worked at Collège de France, Science Faculty of Paris, University of Paris and Pasteur Institute. His faith was atheism. He received 10 awards, including Officer of the Legion of Honour, Croix de guerre 1939–1945. His cause of death was leukemia. He was buried at Cannes (Grand Jas) Cemetery.
