Jacques Rivette (* 1. March 1928 in Rouen; † 29. January 2016 in 6th arrondissement of Paris) was a french film director, screenwriter and film critic. He was 87 years old. He was married to Marilù Parolini and Véronique Rivette. He studied at Lycée Pierre-Corneille. His awards include Sutherland Trophy, Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award for Best Foreign Language Film and Leopard of Honour. His cause of death was Alzheimer's disease. He was buried at Montmartre Cemetery.
