Janusz Kurtyka (* August 13, 1960 in Kraków; † April 10, 2010 in Pechersk, Smolensky District, Smolensk Oblast) was a polish historian. He was 49 years old. He was married to Zuzanna Kurtyka. He studied at Jagiellonian University. He received 5 awards, including Order of Merit (Ukraine), 3rd class, Cross of Freedom and Solidarity. His cause of death was Smolensk air disaster. He was buried at Rakowicki Cemetery.
