Biography of Jean Adhémar

Jean Adhémar (* 18. March 1908 in 17th arrondissement of Paris; † 30. June 1987 in 16th arrondissement of Paris) was a französischer Kunsthistoriker, Archivar, Spezialist für Druckgraphik und Hochschullehrer. He was 79 years old. He was married to Hélène Adhémar. His education included École des chartes and Faculty of Arts of Paris. He worked at Bibliothèque nationale de France, Nouvelles de l'estampe, Gazette des beaux-arts, Free University of Brussels and École du Louvre. He received 5 awards, including Commander of the Legion of Honour, Commander of the National Order of Merit. He was buried at Montmartre Cemetery.
