Biography of Jérôme Carcopino

Jérôme Carcopino (* 27. June 1881 in Verneuil-sur-Avre; † 17. March 1970 in 7th arrondissement of Paris) was a französischer Althistoriker. He was 88 years old. His education included École Normale Supérieure and University of Paris. He worked at Faculty of Arts of Paris, École Normale Supérieure, University of Algiers 1 and French School of Rome. He received 7 awards, including Officer of the Legion of Honour, Croix de guerre 1914–1918. He was buried at cimetière de Laferté-sur-Aube.
