J. Michael Bishop (* 22. February 1936 in York; † 20. March 2026 in San Francisco) was an american immunologist and microbiologist who specialized in cancer research. He was 90 years old. His education included Harvard Medical School and Gettysburg College. He received 10 awards, including Albert Lasker Award for Basic Medical Research, Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. His cause of death was pneumonia.
