John Paul Vann (* 2. July 1924 in Norfolk; † 9. June 1972 in Kon Tum) was an american military personnel of the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was 47 years old. His education included Syracuse University, Rutgers University, United States Army Command and General Staff College and Ferrum College. His awards include Distinguished Flying Cross and Presidential Medal of Freedom. He was buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
