Biography of John R. Winckler

John R. Winckler (* 27. October 1916 in North Plainfield; † 6. February 2001 in Minneapolis) was an american experimental physicist notable for his discovery of sprites in 1989. He was 84 years old. His education included Princeton University and Rutgers University. He worked at Princeton University and University of Minnesota. He received 4 awards, including Guggenheim Fellowship, Arctowski Medal.
