He was married to Akosua Busia and Abena Busia. He had 1 child. His education included University of Southern California, Pasadena City College, USC School of Cinematic Arts, Blair High School, Eisenhower High School and Bassett High School. He was awarded the star on Hollywood Walk of Fame. His cause of death was cerebral hemorrhage. He was buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
