Biography of John Torrey

John Torrey (* 15. August 1796 in New York City; † 10. March 1873 in New York City) was an uS-amerikanischer Botaniker und Chemiker. He was 76 years old. His education included Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and Harvard Law School. He worked at Columbia University and United States Military Academy. His awards include Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and honorary doctor of Amherst College. He was buried at Long Hill Cemetery.
