Biography
Josef Škvorecký (* September 27, 1924 in Náchod; † January 3, 2012 in Toronto) was a czech-Canadian writer and publisher. He was 87 years old. He was married to Zdena Salivarová. His education included University of California, Berkeley and Charles University. He received 9 awards, including Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres, Guggenheim Fellowship. His cause of death was cancer.
