Karl-Otto Apel (* March 15, 1922 in Düsseldorf; † May 15, 2017 in Frankfurt) was a german philosopher. He was 95 years old. His education included Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Saarland University and University of Bonn. He was awarded the Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
