Biography
Lorin Maazel (* March 6, 1930 in Neuilly-sur-Seine; † July 13, 2014 in Rappahannock County) was a french-American conductor. He was 84 years old. He was married to Dietlinde Turban and Israela Margalit. His education included University of Pittsburgh, Peabody High School, Fanny Edel Falk Laboratory School and Interlochen Center for the Arts. He received 8 awards, including Knight Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, Great Golden Medal of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria. His cause of death was pneumonia.
