Biography of Lūcija Garūta

Lūcija Garūta (* 14. May 1902 in Riga; † 15. February 1977 in Riga) was a lettische Pianistin, Dichterin und Komponistin. She was 74 years old. Her education included École Normale de Musique de Paris Alfred Cortot and Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music. She was awarded the Medal "For Distinguished Labour". She was buried at Forest Cemetery.
