Lynn Margulis (* March 5, 1938 in Chicago; † November 22, 2011 in Amherst) was an american evolutionary biologist. She was 73 years old. She was married to Carl Sagan. Her education included University of Wisconsin–Madison, Harvard University, University of California, Berkeley, University of Massachusetts Amherst and University of Chicago Laboratory Schools. She received 10 awards, including Guggenheim Fellowship, National Medal of Science.
