Biography of Makarios III.

Makarios III. (* 13. August 1913 in Pano Panagia; † 3. August 1977 in Nicosia) was a zypriotischer Geistlicher und Politiker. He was 63 years old. His education included National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Boston University and Pancyprian Gymnasium. His faith was Eastern Orthodoxy. He received 4 awards, including Order of the Nile, Grand Cross Special Class of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. His cause of death was myocardial infarction. He was buried at Kykkos Monastery.
