Mark Oliphant (* 8. October 1901 in Adelaide; † 14. July 2000 in Canberra) was a nuclear physicist, Governor of South Australia. He was 98 years old. His education included University of Adelaide, University of Cambridge and Unley High School. He received 10 awards, including Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire, Hughes Medal. He was buried at Ascension Parish Burial Ground.
