Maria de Sousa (* 17. October 1939 in Lisbon; † 14. April 2020 in Lisbon) was a portuguese researcher, immunologist. She was 80 years old. She studied at University of Glasgow. She worked at University of Porto, Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar, Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Sloan-Kettering Institute and Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência. She received 4 awards, including Grand Officer of the Order of Prince Henry, Grand Officer of the Military Order of Saint James of the Sword. Her cause of death was COVID-19.
