Maria Petrou (* 17. May 1953 in Thessaloniki; † 15. October 2012 in Thessaloniki) was an aI researcher. She was 59 years old. Her education included Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and University of Cambridge. She worked at Imperial College London and University of Oxford. Her awards include Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and Fellow of the International Association for Pattern Recognition. Her cause of death was cancer.
