Biography
Mariss Jansons (* January 14, 1943 in Riga; † December 1, 2019 in Saint Petersburg) was a latvian conductor. He was 76 years old. His education included Saint Petersburg Conservatory and University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. His faith was Lutheranism. He received 7 awards, including Bavarian Order of Merit, Knight Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. His cause of death was heart disease. He was buried at Volkovo Cemetery Writer's Walkways.
