Mark Strand (* April 11, 1934 in Summerside; † November 29, 2014 in Brooklyn) was a canadian-American poet, essayist, translator. He was 80 years old. His education included Yale University, University of Iowa, Antioch University, Antioch College and Oakwood Friends School. He received 8 awards, including Guggenheim Fellowship, MacArthur Fellows Program. His cause of death was liposarcoma.
