Mathew Alpern (* 22. September 1920 in Akron; † 16. May 1996 in Ann Arbor) was an american physiologist who studied color vision. He was 75 years old. His education included University of Florida, Ohio State University and Northern Illinois College of Optometry. He worked at University of Michigan. His awards include Edgar D. Tillyer Award, Doctor of Science (honorary) and Charles F. Prentice Medal. His cause of death was heart failure.
