Maurice Sendak (* 10. June 1928 in Brooklyn; † 8. May 2012 in Danbury Hospital) was an american illustrator and writer of children's books. He was 83 years old. His education included Art Students League of New York and Lafayette High School. His faith was atheism. He received 8 awards, including Hans Christian Andersen Award for illustration, National Medal of Arts. His cause of death was myocardial infarction.
