Max Theiler (* 30. January 1899 in Pretoria; † 11. August 1972 in New Haven) was a südafrikanisch-US-amerikanischer Biologe. He was 73 years old. His education included St Thomas's Hospital Medical School, University of Cape Town, King's College London, Rhodes University and Pretoria Boys High School. He worked at Harvard University and The Rockefeller University. His awards include Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, Lasker-DeBakey Clinical Medical Research Award and Chalmers Medal. His cause of death was lung cancer.
