Nelson Algren (* 28. March 1909 in Detroit; † 9. May 1981 in New York City) was an uS-amerikanischer Schriftsteller. He was 72 years old. His education included University of Illinois Urbana–Champaign, Theodore Roosevelt High School and UIUC College of Media. He worked at Iowa Writers' Workshop. He was awarded the National Book Award. He was buried at Oakland Cemetery.
