Biography of Newton L. Bates

Newton L. Bates (* 16. November 1837 in Rochester; † 18. October 1897 in Washington, D.C.) was an american Navy surgeon general. He was 59 years old. His education included University of Rochester, Hamilton College and University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. His cause of death was kidney disease. He was buried at Green-Wood Cemetery.
