Nikki Giovanni (* June 7, 1943 in Knoxville; † December 9, 2024 in Blacksburg) was an american poet, writer and activist. She was 81 years old. She was married to Virginia C. Fowler. She had 1 child. Her education included Fisk University, University of Pennsylvania, Columbia University and Austin-East High School. She received 8 awards, including Ohio Women's Hall of Fame, Langston Hughes Medal. Her cause of death was lung cancer.
