Odysseas Elytis (* 2. November 1911 in Heraklion; † 18. March 1996 in Athens) was a greek poet and art critic. He was 84 years old. He studied at National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. His awards include Nobel Prize in Literature and doctor honoris causa from the Paris-Sorbonne University. His cause of death was myocardial infarction. He was buried at First Cemetery of Athens.
