Oliver Smithies (* June 23, 1925 in Halifax; † January 10, 2017 in Chapel Hill) was a biochemistry, genetics, Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 2007. He was 91 years old. He was married to Nobuyo Maeda. He studied at Balliol College. His faith was atheism. He received 10 awards, including Albert Lasker Award for Basic Medical Research, Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.
