Biography of Oskar Schindler

Oskar Schindler (* 28. April 1908 in Svitavy; † 9. October 1974 in Hildesheim) was a sudetendeutscher Industrieller, der etwa 1200 Juden vor dem Tod bewahrte. He was 66 years old. He was married to Emilie Schindler. His faith was lapsed Catholic. He received 5 awards, including Righteous Among the Nations, Order of St. Sylvester. His cause of death was liver failure. He was buried at Mount Zion.
