Philip Abelson (* 27. April 1913 in Tacoma; † 1. August 2004 in Bethesda) was an uS physicist, editor of the journal Science, and director of the Carnegie Institution of Washington's Geophysical Laboratory. He was 91 years old. He was married to Neva Abelson. His education included Washington State University and University of California, Berkeley. He received 7 awards, including Kalinga Prize, National Medal of Science. His cause of death was respiratory failure.
