Pierre Adolphe Chéruel (* 17. January 1809 in Rouen; † 1. May 1891 in Fontenay-aux-Roses) was a french historian. He was 82 years old. His education included École Normale Supérieure, Lycée Pierre-Corneille and Faculty of Arts of Paris. He worked at French Ministry of education, École Normale Supérieure, Lycée Louis-le-Grand, Faculty of Arts of Paris and Lycée Pierre-Corneille. His awards include Grand Prix Gobert, Officer of the Legion of Honour and Knight of the Legion of Honour. He was buried at Cemetery of Fontenay-aux-Roses.
