R. S. Thomas (* March 29, 1913 in Cardiff; † September 25, 2000 in Criccieth) was a welsh poet. He was 87 years old. He was married to Mildred E. Eldridge. His education included Bangor University and St Michael's College. His faith was Anglicanism. He received 4 awards, including Cholmondeley Award, King’s / Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry.
