Robert Merle (* 29. August 1908 in Tébessa; † 27. March 2004 in Grosrouvre) was a french writer. He was 95 years old. His education included Lycée Louis-le-Grand, Lycée Michelet, Vanves and Faculty of Arts of Paris. He received 4 awards, including Prix Goncourt, John W. Campbell Memorial Award for Best Science Fiction Novel. His cause of death was myocardial infarction.
