Roy Walter Simonson (* 7. September 1908 in Agate; † 2. November 2008 in Ames) was an american soil scientist. He was 100 years old. His education included North Dakota State University and University of Wisconsin–Madison College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. He worked at Iowa State University, Military Geology Unit, University of Maryland and Natural Resources Conservation Service. He was buried at Ames Municipal Cemetery.
