Biography of Ryszard Matuszewski

Ryszard Matuszewski (* 18. August 1914 in Warsaw; † 29. April 2010 in Warsaw) was a polnischer Literaturkritiker. He was 95 years old. He was married to Irena Szymańska and Beata Matuszewska. His education included Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Warsaw, Stefan Batory Gymnasium and Lyceum, IV LO im. Adama Mickiewicza and Szkoła Podchorążych Łączności. He worked at The General Counsel to the Republic of Poland, Kuźnica, Nowa Kultura (1950-1963), Czytelnik, Literatura and Polska Zbrojna. His faith was Catholic Church. His awards include Righteous Among the Nations, Commander with Star of the Order of Polonia Restituta and Polish State Award. He was buried at Powązki Cemetery.
