Biography of Sawako Ariyoshi

Sawako Ariyoshi (* 20. January 1931 in Wakayama; † 30. August 1984 in Suginami) was a japanische Schriftstellerin. She was 53 years old. She was married to Akira Jin. Her education included Tokyo Woman's Christian University and Sarah Lawrence College. Her awards include Women's Literature Prize, Japanese Literature Grand Prix and Novel Shincho Award. Her cause of death was heart failure. She was buried at Kodaira Cemetery.
